The "Sal Armani Collection" debuts at the Salvation Army, Syracuse NY

All Photography By: Joseph Gorman
Normally, one does not immediately associate “fashion” with “Salvation Army” but there are a few of us Avant-garde forward thinking trend setters here in Syracuse NY that believe otherwise.
Last July 8-9 my colleague, model, and creative set director Bella Daniella envisioned a unique fashion event to benefit the Salvation Army and bring awareness of the creative ways that donated clothing could be worn in a chic trendy style. Bringing along a few friends, they filled three shopping carts with items ranging from blouses, trousers, prom and designer gowns – even a few wedding gowns and veils!
These photos show some of the fun we had, but also show how many of these styles can be worn in a fashionable way, and even to trendy evening events. Most of the items were priced below $8.00. The gowns were around $15.00 and the wedding gowns up to $60.00.
All items were 50% off on Wednesday, and we returned to purchase a few gowns, shoes, shirts, and trousers to help out the store. These items are stowed in a rolling luggage bag that travels with my photographic gear to model shoots. When a model says, “I don't have anything to wear” we quickly reply, “Sal Armani to the rescue”!
